The National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) has congratulated the newly-appointed Acting Comptroller-General of Customs; Adewale Adeniyi and the Acting Inspector General of Police; Kayode Egbetokun.

This is even as it has pledged the association’s maximum support to their administration for the development of the freight forwarding industry.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu appointments of Comptroller General of Customs (CGC) and Inspector General of Police (IGP) was announced on Monday following the sack of Col. Hameed Ali (rtd) and Baba Usman respectively.

In two separate official letters signed by the National President of NAGAFF, Chief Tochukwu Esizi which was made available to our correspondent, described the appointment of these Service helmsmen as significant, timely and laudable. He stressed the association’s unflinching support to the success by their administration.

Chief Ezisi noted that Tinubu has indeed made a remarkable history with the appointment of Adewale Adeniyi owing to his pedigree and deep understanding of the complex and constantly evolving international trade landscape.

He also added that Adewale grew up through the ranks in service which speaks to his strong command of customs regulations, laws, and procedures as well as the ability to navigate and adapt to changing policies and regulations at the right times.

The NAGAFF President noted that the association strongly looks forward to a collaboration with the new Acting CGC in finding and developing innovative solutions to the collective problems in the ports and logistics industry.

At a time of great change faced with challenges of intense security challenges where expertise and professionalism are paramount in the leadership of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) towards tackling insecurity, NAGAFF commended the decision of PBAT to appoint Mr Kayode Egbetokun as the IGP.

Ezisi assured that NAGAFF will continue to proactively engage with the NPF as well as other government agencies for peaceful conduct and cooperation with the Force.

“I have strong faith in your long service experience under NPF. PBAT has indeed made a remarkable history with your appointment owing to your pedigree and deep understanding of the complex and constantly evolving security dynamism as well as one who grew up through the ranks in service which speaks to your strong command of enforcement processes and procedures of the Nigeria laws, as well as your ability to navigate and adapt to changing policies and regulations at the right times.

“I strongly look forward to a collaboration with you in finding and developing innovative solutions to our collective problems, in particular, within the ports and maritime community where peace and harmony is the driver of local and international trade.” Ezisi noted.
