The Maritime Reporters Association of Nigeria (MARAN) has extended its heartfelt condolences to Muhammad Bello-Koko, the Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), following the demise of his father, Alhaji Muhammad Koko.

In a statement released by the association’s President, Godfrey Bivbere, MARAN conveyed its sympathies to the NPA helmsman and the entire Koko family. Bivbere acknowledged that losing a loved one is always a painful experience, regardless of their age at the time of passing. However, he urged the NPA boss and his family to find comfort in the knowledge that it was the Almighty’s will to bring Alhaji Muhammad Koko home at this time.

“We pray that Allah grants him mercy, forgives his shortcomings, and welcomes him to eternal rest,” Bivbere expressed in the statement.

Alhaji Muhammad Koko passed away on Friday, 21st July 2023, after battling a prolonged illness. The NPA MD had previously shared the news of his father’s demise through his official Twitter account, where he wrote, “This morning, my dear father, Alhaji Muhammad Koko, passed away after a protracted illness. May Allah have mercy on his soul and forgive him all his shortcomings.”
