A clearing agent, Ifeanyi Ezenwabachili, 36, who allegedly stole N1.4 million belonging to his customer, was yesterday charged before an Ebute-Meta Chief Magistrates' Court in Lagos.
Ezenwabachili, who resides at No.20, Shotayo Hughes St., Aguda, Surulere, is facing a three-count charge of conspiracy, stealing and fraud.
The prosecutor, Insp George Nwosu, told the court that the accused committed the offences on April 4, at about 12:00 a.m., at Surulere, Lagos.

The prosecutor, Insp George Nwosu, told the court that the accused committed the offences on April 4, at about 12:00 a.m., at Surulere, Lagos.
He said that the accused obtained the money from the complainant, one Mr Collins Emeribe, under the pretext of helping him to clear a container from the port.
According to the prosecutor, the accused collected the money from the complainant but did not deliver the container to him.
He said that the accused disappeared with the money, but was later arrested by the police.
Nwosu said that the offences contravened Sections 285,312 and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Section 285 provides a penalty of three years imprisonment for stealing.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr Olatunbosun Abolarinwa, granted the accused bail in the sum of N500,000, with two sureties in like sum.
He adjourned the case to Aug.14 for further hearing.
