Bricks Mursten Mattoni to Showcase Nigeria’s Maritime Progress at London International Shipping Week

Bricks Mursten Mattoni Ltd has announced its participation at the forthcoming London International Shipping Week (LISW) 2025, where it will showcase Nigeria’s achievements in maritime security, trade facilitation, and sectoral reforms to a global audience.

The event, scheduled to hold from September 15 to 19, 2025, is one of the world’s most influential gatherings for the shipping industry, attracting policymakers, regulators, shipowners, financiers, and maritime technology experts from across more than 70 countries.

Bricks Mursten Mattoni said its participation would provide a platform to highlight the country’s maritime progress, particularly in addressing security challenges in the Gulf of Guinea and positioning Nigeria as a competitive shipping hub.

The company’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Emmanuel Maiguwa Gankino, will represent the firm at the weeklong event. He is expected to engage participants, share insights from Nigeria’s maritime industry, and discuss opportunities for greater international collaboration.

“This platform gives us an opportunity to tell Nigeria’s story, showcase the progress made in maritime safety and regulation, and deepen international partnerships that will enhance the sector’s competitiveness,” Maiguwa said ahead of the event.

Other Nigerian organizations expected to participate in LISW 2025 include BA Ports Services Ltd, the Maritime Security Providers Association of Nigeria (MASPAN), and the Alumni of the Maritime Academy of Nigeria, Oron (AMANO).

London International Shipping Week has become a premier forum for discussing global shipping challenges and opportunities, ranging from maritime security and safety to green shipping, technology, and international trade policy. With more than 20,000 delegates expected this year, the platform offers Nigeria a rare chance to present its case for investment and fairer treatment in the international shipping market.

For Nigeria, still burdened by War Risk Insurance premiums imposed on vessels calling at its ports despite significant improvements in security, the event will also serve as a platform to push for reforms and highlight empirical data proving safer conditions in its waters.

Bricks Mursten Mattoni emphasized that its presence at LISW 2025 underscores its commitment to supporting Nigeria’s maritime development, projecting positive narratives, and building partnerships that will reposition the industry for global competitiveness.
