Pacific International Lines (PIL) conducted the naming ceremony for its newbuild vessel, christening it the “Kota Odyssey.” The ceremony took place at the port of Tema in Ghana on 16th September.
The ceremony was attended by Ghana’s top government officials and authorities. The christening was done by Ghana’s Vice President, and among others attending were the Minister of Transport and the Deputy Minister for Energy and Green Transition.
The Kota Odyssey is part of the new “O” class of vessels in the PIL fleet. Upon delivery, the vessel will join PIL’s Southwest Africa service and offer weekly trips connecting major ports in China, Singapore, Ghana, Togo, Nigeria, and Côte d’Ivoire.
The Kota Odyssey is an LNG-powered dual-fuel container vessel flagged in Singapore. The vessel has a length of 260 metres, a beam of 46 metres, and a gross tonnage of 78,384.
