The paper has deepen the knowledge of maritime industry I am not surprised because, the publisher is capable and the weekly newspaper has improved our knowledge with its investigative reports and exclusive stories. There is still room for improvement, and also increasing the pages of the paper. So far, you guys are doing a great job.

Without prejudice, my overall assessment of the Shipping Position Weekly newspaper is that they have done well, in the last one year, considering its informative, educative and knowledge-driven approach to issues in the maritime industry. I will also use this time out to solicit an improvement in proof reading and the entire colour separation of the paper. You should also work towards increasing the pages.
Finally, I want to commend the set man and his entire crew for the wealth of the information provided to the maritime community in the past one year. I wish Shipping Position Weekly better years, greater result and fulfilment in the years ahead.

These clearly shows that the publisher is an experienced and versatile journalist, because the materials, particularly the investigative aspect demonstrated beyond every saddle of doubt that he is not new in the industry.
Some of the newspaper’s exclusive stories are further highlighted in some major daily newspapers. The editorial of the paper are always a food for thought and shows that the publisher is a resident reporter in the industry. More grease to your elbow.

I want you to consider circulating your papers across the west and the border posts because it’s needed and necessary.

The paper should be more colorful and the pages should also be increased. I will also like to advice that they look into other sectors in the maritime industry that are untapped by them to make their paper more detailed and informative with reports about the industry.

The paper has maintained its credibility with the exclusives it publishes every week and also the various columns it has. The column that drew my attention to the paper was the terminals page, a friend brought the paper when we were expecting our container to arrive and we are not sure of its arrival due to some delays at the ports then. So since then have been reading it.
I want Shipping Position Weekly to increase their pages and also talk about oil and gas sector as well since it’s also involved in the maritime sector.

Shipping position weekly paper which was given birth to on Monday 29th
October 2007 has come at the right time base on the request of stake holders.
I was opportuned to lay my hand on the first edition of the newspaper and my first port of call was the “EDITORIAL COLUMN” on page 3 so as to know more about the intention of the paper being a weekly paper on maritime related issues. Reading through the Editorial write-up with the heading “WELCOME TO OUR WORLD”, the first statement under this heading really surprised me. That is a question from the critics and the editor’s reply. QUESTION: “Why now”? REPLY: “Why not”? This is just a sign that some critics have the intention of killing the paper (a ‘baby’ yet unborn). May God forgive them.
I want to finally appreciate the Editor and all members of the crew who have been working tirelessly in ensuring that this paper is a rich. It is a path way to knowledge in maritime industry. Just to advice that whatever you are facing with your competitors or your critics either through the Electronic media or print media are some of the challenges that are attached to the spirit of the game. So what else can we say, you deserve 90 per cent as I keep the remaining 10 per cent for my future assessment. Keep it up, the sky is enough for birds to fly.

I congratulate the management of Shipping Position Weekly for the tremendous achievement. I am a regular reader of the paper since its first publication, when I was in Port Harcourt.
The uniqueness of the paper is that you have been able to breakthrough all the spectrum of maritime stakeholders like freight forwarders, customs, NPA and so on. Even those that are new in the industry will still find the paper more educative and informative for them.
The challenges ahead includes: increasing your pagination, though I know it’s not easy but we will support you. Shipping Position Weekly has really proved her worth by standing out amongst others, I want to congratulate you, and I hope to mark five years of Shipping Position Weekly together with you guys when the time comes by God’s grace.
