The Apapa Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has achieved a historic milestone by collecting ₦18.9 billion in revenue on Friday, March 14, 2025—the highest daily collection in the command’s history.

In a press statement issued by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SC Tunde Ayagbalo, Comptroller Babatunde Olomu, the Customs Area Controller (CAC), attributed this remarkable achievement to several key factors, including the unwavering dedication of the officers, a sustained culture of compliance, and the promotion of industrial harmony within the Apapa Port. He also acknowledged the steadfast support from the Comptroller-General of Customs (CGC), Bashir Adewale Adeniyi.

Olomu emphasized the critical role of ports as national assets influencing both local and global trade. He stated, “It is imperative to keep the ports working, especially Apapa Port, which accounts for the highest volume of cargoes coming into Nigeria.”

Reflecting on the significance of this achievement, Comptroller Olomu remarked, “Our record-breaking achievement of ₦18.9 billion daily collection on Friday, March 14, 2025, is the beginning of greater exploits to be attained this year.” He further assured that the command remains vigilant in combating smuggling and detecting any attempts at duty evasion.
