African Professional Freight Forwarders and Logistics of Nigeria (APFFLON) has alleged lack of adequate preparations for the coming election into the governing board of the Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN).
The President of the association, Otunba Frank Ogunojemite while briefing newsmen on Monday, stated that lack of adequate preparation for the election could lead to election irregularities.
Ogunojemite informed that as at 12:30pm of Monday, the council in Lagos was yet to screen any of the candidates adding that the lack of adequate preparations will lead to inconsistencies in the screening process.
According to him, “as at 12:30pm yesterday only two laptops and four personnel were on ground to attend to the many freight forwarders in Lagos, they were yet to have a direction and this could lead to inconsistency in the screening process, because if they don’t have resources how will they be able to screen properly”

Speaking further, the APFFLON boss lampooned the council over failure to get back official vehicles and properties in hands of former governing council members, he described the action as laughable while asking that the vehicles be retrieved from the outgoing board including those contesting and those that are not.
“The Registrar said the outgoing board members who are contesting should return the vehicles in their possession, does that mean those that are not contesting can go with it, they ought to have collected the vehicles and government properties before now, it is just so pathetic” he said.
“The management of CRFFN should be sanitized and those due for retirement should go, if the management is disciplined, I see no reason they can’t plan the election well”, he lamented further.
