The Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN) less than 24 hours after issuing a three-day extension to the warning strike on Wednesday, halted port operations at AP Moller Terminals (APMT) Apapa over issues of poor renumeration of workers at the facilities.
Top executives of the union led by the President General of MWUN, Comrade Adewale Adeyanju and other members of the Dockworkers Branch were in front of the entry points of the terminals.
They insisted that management of APMT are taking Nigerian labour workers for a ride hence the need the demonstration.
As at the time of filing this report, APMT has been barricaded with workers instructed to stop operations and leave the facilities immediately.
