COSCO Shipping Specialized Carrier Co.Ltd, a subsidiary of COSCO Shipping, launched the Pure Truck and Car Carrier (PCTC) MV Yuan Hai Kou on 15th May. The vessel was delivered to COSCO in Nansha, Guangzhou.

The introduction of this vessel marked COSCO’s commitment to green maritime innovation. The vessel features an LNG dual-fuel system, which means that it can reduce CO2 emissions by 27%, NOx emissions by 30%, and particulate emissions by 99% compared to traditional fuels.

The vessel is also equipped with 302.8 kW solar panels that can generate around 410,000 kWh/year, further increasing the vessel’s efficiency.

In addition to these features, the vessel boasts a unique innovation designed to improve the quality of life for the crew on board. The vessel has a mobile vegetable garden, placed within specially designed containers on board, which can grow fresh vegetables for the crew’s consumption.
