The Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN) and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) have affirmed their commitment to collaborate to promote ethics in the practice of freight forwarding.
The commitment was the highpoint of a visit by the Registrar of CRFFN; Mr. Kingsley Igwe to the Chairman of the ICPC, Dr. Musa Adamu Aliyu, SAN at its Abuja headquarters, where they shared thoughts about integrity and transparency in the public sphere.
Mr. Igwe, accompanied by CRFFN directors and key staff, highlighted key areas for collaboration between the two agencies.
He emphasized aligning CRFFN’s regulatory framework with ICPC’s anti-corruption mandate, stressing the role of integrity, transparency, and teamwork in advancing the freight forwarding sector.
He also shared ongoing initiatives by CRFFN to enhance governance and operational efficiency.
In his remarks, Dr. Aliyu commended CRFFN’s proactive engagement and highlighted the importance of ethical standards in regulatory operations. He affirmed ICPC’s commitment to supporting CRFFN through collaborative initiatives.
A key outcome of the visit was the agreement to initiate a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between both agencies, which will serve as a framework for joint initiatives, capacity building, and coordinated enforcement to promote accountability and professionalism within the freight forwarding industry.
This engagement marks an important step toward stronger institutional partnerships and a shared commitment to national development.
