The Nigeria Customs Service has commenced collection of 70% duty on all imported used vehicles.
The collection reportedly started on Monday.
The development is causing palpable anxiety at the seaports, especially the PTML command where clearing agents told Shipping Position Daily that the changes are already being reflected.
Calls made to the Public Relations Officer of PTML command were not answered as at the time of filing this report.
Our correspondent who visited the command gathered that the customs and the leadership of Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) are currently in a meeting to resolve the issue.
*******More details later.
