The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Ogun 1 Area Command, Idiroko, says it’s resolved to run unrepentant smugglers engaged in sabotaging the economy out of business in the state.
The Command’s Area Controller, Comptroller Olukayode Afeni, said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Idiroko.
Afeni said that the command with the support of sister security agencies was committed to dismantle supply chains and illicit channels through which contraband goods enter the country.
“The command wishes to send a stern warning to those involved in the smuggling of prohibited items because our operatives are strategically deployed against smuggling activities.
“We therefore urge traders to desist from illicit trades and turn to engage in legimate businesses,”he said.
Afeni said that the command would not relent and tolerate any action that compromises the economy and national security of the country
