The Western Marine Command of Nigeria Customs Service has intercepted boats conveying smuggled 466 bags of 50kg parboiled rice and 272 cartons of poultry products.
Controller of the Command, Olugboyega Peters told journalists in Lagos on Friday that the seizures were made within two weeks of his resumption.
Peters said his officers will continually increase their patrol on waters to prevent smugglers from accessing the Nigerian markets through waters.
He urged smugglers to steer clear of his area as there will be no hiding place for them as patrols will be intensified under his watch.
He added that the command seized 120 pieces of wrappers and 240 yards of plain materials
