As Christians across the country mark the Easter celebration, the Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of the Maritime Police Command, AIG Musa Yusuf Garba, has extended warm greetings to maritime stakeholders, business operators, and Christian faithful, calling for vigilance and compliance with the law during the festivities.

In a goodwill message signed by the Command’s Spokesman, ASP Adebayo Rasheed on Thursday, April 17, 2025, AIG Garba, on behalf of officers and men of the Command, assured the public of enhanced security across Nigeria’s inland waterways and maritime corridors throughout the holiday period and beyond.

He noted that the Command has deployed sufficient human, material, and operational resources to guarantee safety and uninterrupted maritime operations during Easter celebrations.

“Easter is a time for reflection and unity, and while we encourage Nigerians to celebrate with joy, we urge everyone to remain law-abiding and security-conscious,” AIG Garba stated.

He also advised media professionals and members of the public to refrain from spreading misinformation, stressing the importance of credible reporting in maintaining public peace and supporting national security efforts.

The AIG reaffirmed the Maritime Police Command’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding lives, property, and economic activities along Nigeria’s waterways.
