The Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA) has installed a state-of-the-art mobility solution at its Five Cowries Terminal Head Office, to assist the physically challenged and elderly.
LASWA’s General Manager, Mr Oluwadamilola Emmanuel, made this known in a statement on Thursday in Lagos.
According to Emmanuel, the installed modern stair lift is to make its facilities more accessible by everyone.
“We are thrilled to announce an essential upgrade at our head office in Falomo, Ikoyi!
“This initiative is part of the Lagos State Government’s T.H.E.M.E.S + Agenda, ensuring that no one is left behind, especially our friends in the physically challenged community and the elderly.
“Our new stair lift is not just a piece of equipment; it’s a state-of-the-art mobility solution designed to help those who need assistance in navigating stairs safely and comfortably.
“This reflects our ongoing commitment to providing a positive experience for everyone who visits or works with us,” he said.
Emmanuel pointed out that it believed that accessing public spaces should never be a challenge for anyone.
He added that the stair lift was just one step toward creating a friendly and welcoming environment.
“We are dedicated to ensuring that using Lagos waterways and our services is easy and accessible for everyone.
“This stair lift is part of LASWA’s wider effort to improve its facilities, prioritising safety, convenience, and exceptional service.
“We invite everyone to use this new facility! LASWA is committed to ensuring that the Lagos water transport system is inclusive, safe, and efficient for all residents,” Emmanuel said.
