The case is cited as between The Attorney General of the Federation and Mr Lucky Eyis Amiwero.

After spending five days in the cell of the Federal Operations Unit (FOU), Mr Lucky Eyis Amiwero has been remanded in Ikoyi prisons by Justice J.O Okeke of the Federal High Court in Ikoyi.
The case is cited as between The Attorney General of the Federation and Mr Lucky Eyis Amiwero.
Mr Amiwero’s journey to Ikoyi prison commenced on Monday at the court, when his lawyer, Mr Osuala Nwagbara argued for his bail, but the Prosecutor from the Attorney General’s office who is also a ‘resident’ legal adviser at the FOU Mr J.I Ajakaye pleaded with the court to allow him time to study the conditions upon which Mr Amiwero’s counsel was applying for a bail for the accused.
On the strength of Mr Ajakaye’s request, Justice Okeke adjourned the case till Friday and ordered that Mr Amiwero should be remanded in Ikoyi prisons till the next adjourned date.
It was a helpless Amiwero’s counsel, Mr Nwagbara who told Shipping Position Daily shortly after the court proceeding yesterday that “we have no choice than to wait until Friday again because their counsel requested for time to study the request”.
He however decried the way the Federal Operations Unit handled his client, he lamented that he was denied access to Mr Amiwero and that he saw no reason why his client should be treated like a common criminal by the Customs.
