Preparatory to the commencement of its 2013/2014 academic session, the Maritime Academy of Nigeria in Oron, Akwa Ibom state has shortlisted more than 4,000 of the candidates that sat for the its examination for interview.
Unlike in the past years however, the interview will hold in four centres. They are : Kaduna , for those who wrote the examination in Abuja, Zaria and Yola,Lagos for those who sat for the examination in Lagos and Port Harcourt for those who wrote the examinations in Port Harcourt and Owerri.

The institutions campus in Oron will serve those who sat for the examination in Oron.
However a whopping N41, 860,000 is expected to come into the coffers of the institution from the exercise as each candidate is expected to pay N10, 000 for medical examination which we gathered are to be conducted at the interview venues.
According to the notice of interview which was obtained by our correspondent yesterday, all candidates are for the National Diploma programme.
About 1,648 students have been invited for interview for Diploma in Maritime Transport, 1,253 for Marine Engineering, 757 for Nautical Science and 145 for Boat and Ship Building Technology. Other courses are: Electrical and Electronics Engineering which accounts for 311, Hydrology 21 candidates and Meteorology and Oceanography 51 candidates.
