Ahead of the forthcoming elections into the office of the Secretary General of Port Management Association of West and Central Africa (PMAWCA), the Managing Director of Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Omar Suleiman has said that the NPA will support Mr. Jean Francois Odigi Owona in his ambition to become the next scribe of the sub-regional body.
Speaking while receiving a three-member delegation from Cameroun in his office last week, the Managing Director who was represented by the Executive Director, Engineering and Technical Services, Mr. Sunny Nwobi said that, “since lobbying is part of democracy, it is in order to have the delegation canvass support for their candidate”
He added that NPA believes that the candidate is qualified to do the job because of his requisite experience in the port industry that has spanned for about three decades.
Earlier, the leader of the Camerounian delegation who is also the General Manager of National Ports Authority Cameroun, Mr. Younba Josue said that the purpose of their visit was to seek the support of Nigeria in the forth-coming elections.
