NAGAFF Urges CRFFN To Eliminate Quacks In Freight Forwarding

The National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) has urged the Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN), to regulate the freight forwarding business and eliminate quacks.
Founder of NAGAFF;  Dr Boniface Aniebonam, , said in a statement made available to newsmen yesterday in Lagos that the trading public was being deceived by quacks parading themselves as freight forwarders.
“NAGAFF is greatly worried because CRFFN is not playing the expected role to justify its establishment, ‘’ he said.
According to Aniebonam, the CRFFN is a regulatory agency expected to control freight forwarding practise in Nigeria.
“It is expected to set standards and code of professional practise among practitioners''.
Aniebonam also urged the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) to enforce import and export regulations of government.
“If such regulations were not enforced, the country’s economy will continue to nosedive into unprecedented poverty.
“We also suggest and advise the customs service and other regulatory agencies of government to adopt the concept of corrective measures, instead of outright seizure of defaulting goods,’’ he said.
According to him, the transformation programme of the Federal Government will have a tremendous effect if the laws and regulations were respected.
“The concept of a new Nigeria of our dream is realisable, if we make deliberate effort to abide by the rules, work hard, shun corruption and show love to ourselves as one large happy family''.
Aniebonam said that the nation’s ports and border posts required a commercial regulator.
“The need for a port regulator is key and strategic to our growth and development,’’ he said.
