The Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) SOROH, under the auspices of the Central Naval Command, in collaboration with other security agencies, have conducted show of physical readiness in Bayelsa.
During the exercise no Saturday, the Commander, NNS SOROH, Commodore Omobamidele Akinbami, said that the exercise was to check the strength and readiness of security agencies to protect lives and property in Bayelsa.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the security agencies that participated in the show of force includes the Nigerian Navy, Nigerian Army, Police, NSCDC, Nigeria Immigration Service and Nigeria Correctional Centre, among others.
According to Akinbami, the headquarters has directed the Nigerian Navy Ship SOROH, to carry out a show of force, under the auspices of the CNC
“This also goes to show to the populace and the peace loving people of Bayelsa State, that the security agencies here are ready to protect them.
“Once the state governor calls up on us, we will be ready to act to ensure that their lives, goods and property are protected.
“We are here to ensure that the peace in this state will continue and extend to the whole country,” he said.
The commander urged the security agencies to be careful while discharging their professional duties and ensure they create an atmosphere of peace and confidence among the people.
