NEPZA, 20 Agencies Commit To New Revenue Monitoring Platform

The Nigeria Export Processing Zones Authority (NEPZA) and 20 other Federal Government agencies have resolved to integrate and adopt the Revenue Optimisation and Assurance Platform (RevOP).

The agencies also resolved to integrate and adopt the Federal Treasury e-Receipt (FTe-R) to enhance transparency and accountability in government financial operations.

Dr Olufemi Ogunyemi, NEPZA’s Managing Director, said this followed a meeting between the Minister of Finance and coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr Taiwo Oyedele, and chief executive officers of 21 affected agencies in Abuja.

Ogunyemi said the agencies were aligning with the federal government’s efforts to strengthen financial governance through the newly approved revenue monitoring platform.

According to him, the RevOP platform is approved by the Federal Executive Council (FEC) to eliminate day-to-day financial fraud and advance the financial transparency agenda of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

The NEPZA boss said the authority was on course for full compliance with the initiative, leveraging its existing digital financial management systems.

”We are encouraged and feel responsible to follow the RevOP.

”It is especially motivating to observe the president taking clear leadership and responsibility for this vital financial monitoring system, which will help push the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda forward,” Ogunyemi said.

Similarly, the minister of finance represented by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Mr Muhammed Sanusi, said the platform was designed to provide comprehensive records of government revenues and expenditures.

Oyedele explained that the initiative formed part of broader efforts to strengthen financial accountability and improve oversight of public funds across government institutions.

According to him, 31 Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) have already been integrated into the platform.

He added that 21 additional agencies would be on-boarded in the next phase as government intensified efforts to achieve full financial transparency before the end of the year.

”We therefore wish to encourage each of you to, without delay, key into this lofty government initiative to boost financial due process on all fronts,” Oyedele said.

The minister expressed confidence that the platform would enhance revenue assurance, reduce leakages and strengthen public confidence in government financial management.

The RevOP and FTe-R platforms are key components of the federal government’s digital public finance reforms aimed at improving revenue collection, expenditure tracking and overall financial accountability across MDAs
