The Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Dr. Zainab Ahmed, has said that the country is blessed with huge potentials exportable items in non-oil sector that can boost the nation’s economy.
She listed the exportable non-oil sector to include agriculture, mining and the manufacturing.
The Managing Director, Nigeria Export – Import Bank, Mr Abba Bello, also said the bank in collaboration with the Central Bank of Nigeria had commenced implementing the N500bn Stimulus Facility and the N100bn Export Project Fund at a single digit interest rate to support the production and export of goods and services.
The minister and the NEXIM bank boss spoke at the Kaduna State Export enlightenment and engagement forum organised by NEXIM at the ongoing 42nd Kaduna International Trade Fair in Kaduna on Sunday.
The forum’s them was ‘Understanding the fundamentals of export trade: A practical guide and sustainable export market for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises’.

Bello said the move was part of efforts at making the non-oil sector to become a major foreign exchange earner for the country.
The NEXIM bank boss also lamented the undue exposure of the nation’s economy to the oil sector to the detriment of the non-oil sector of the economy.
