Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA); Mohammed Bello Koko has received a port investment delegation from the Chad Republic.
Discussions at the meeting focused on how to win back transit cargo by taking advantage of the transshipment capacity of Nigerian ports.
This is coming on the heels of the NPA’s spearheading high-level collaborative discussions with relevant agencies aimed at putting in place seamless guidelines to govern transshipment.
According to the NPA boss, transshipment is pivotal to optimizing Nigeria’s rich maritime endowments to service regional needs in keeping with the dictates of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Agreement, to which Nigeria is a signatory.
