The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has announced a series of new appointments and redeployments for General Managers across key divisions.
According to the NPA, the reshuffling is part of an effort to support the management team led by Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho in achieving the agency’s performance goals.
Dr. Dantsoho described the appointments as a deliberate strategy to maximize the expertise of the newly-appointed officials for the benefit of Nigeria.
“These appointments represent our deliberate strategy to deploy the wealth of experience of the appointees to national advantage”, Dantsoho stated, even as he highlighted that the reorganization aligns with the directives of the Federal Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy, aiming to enhance the NPA’s contribution to Nigeria’s maritime and trade sectors.
The reshuffling retains Dr. (Mrs.) Chinwe Nwokolo as General Manager of the Medical Division, Pharmacist Hadiza Sani as General Manager of the Abuja Liaison Division, and Mr. Babatunde Gbotolorun as General Manager of the ICT Division.
Several new appointments were made to lead other critical divisions, reflecting the NPA’s focus on operational efficiency and national economic growth.

According to the NPA managing director, the appointments take immediate effect and are expected to bring a fresh perspective to the NPA’s operations, further positioning the organization to meet its targets in the facilitation of trade, maritime security, and overall national economic contributions.
