Key players in Nigeria’s maritime sector, including the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Nigerian Shippers’ Council, Trucks Transit Parks (TTP), and other groups have confirmed their attendance at a breakfast meeting organized by the Maritime Reporters Association of Nigeria (MARAN). The focus of the meeting will be on the Electronic Call-up System, also known as Eto.

Joining the discussion will be representatives from the Barge Operators Association of Nigeria (BOAN), Lagos State Cargo and Transport Committee (LASTCOC), National Association of Road Transport Owners (NARTO), Nexus Association of Maritime Transport Operators (NAMTOP), Council of Maritime Transport Union and Associations (COMTUA), Association of Maritime Truck Owners (AMATO), among others.

Additionally, operators of truck holding bays licensed by the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) and Export Processing Terminals (EPT) will be in attendance.

The breakfast meeting aims to address challenges hindering the efficiency of the Electronic Call System (Eto) and propose viable solutions. Mr. Godfrey Bivbere, President of MARAN, expressed confidence in the success of the event and encouraged all port stakeholders to participate.

Highlighting MARAN’s commitment to advancing ideas for the growth of the maritime industry, Mr. Bivbere emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts among stakeholders.

Scheduled for Thursday, March 7, 2024, the event will take place at the Rockview Hotel in Apapa, Lagos.
