The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Ogun 1 Area Command, Idiroko, has congratulated Muslim faithful on the occasion of Eid-el-Fitr and called for continued commitment to border security and national development.
The Area Comptroller, Mr Olukayode Afeni, conveyed the message in a statement signed by the Command’s Spokesperson, Mr Zakari Chado, and made available to newsmen on Friday in Ota.
Afeni, on behalf of the management and the Security Committee of the Ogun 1 Area Command, extended warm felicitations to Muslim faithful.
He noted that Eid-el-Fitr marks the successful completion of Ramadan, a period dedicated to fasting, prayer, discipline, and spiritual renewal.
He described the celebration as a reminder of enduring values such as sacrifice, compassion, tolerance and generosity.
“As we celebrate, I urge us all to sustain the virtues of peace, unity and brotherly love, which are the core teachings of Islam.
“Also, in this spirit of devotion, let us remain vigilant and committed to the protection of our land borders and host communities.
“Our collective resolve to prevent the influx of arms and ammunition is vital to ensuring a secure environment for all.
“Furthermore, let us continue to work hand-in-hand to foster a culture of excellence, mutual respect, and academic growth within our professional space,” he said.
Afeni prayed that the Eid celebration brings joy, good health and renewed strength to officers, their families and Nigerians at large, while encouraging continued contributions to the growth of the service and the nation.
