A total of 29,393 units of both new and fairly- used vehicles have been recorded as imported in the first quarter of the year, with the month of March recording the highest total of 10,393 units.
Statistics obtained by our correspondent revealed that in January 9625 units were imported as against February with 9,615 units.

Top of the list was Five Star Logistics terminals with a total of 5,833, out of which 2,900 units were new vehicles.
Shipping Position Daily, gathered that the new vehicles came aboard four vessels to the RORO terminal in Lagos, vessel called Freedom Ace arrived on the 11th of March with 700 units of new vehicles, Firmanent Ace came on the 16th, with 700 units, Miracleous Ace came on the 10th of last month with 800 units while Bergamount arrived the terminal of Five Star with 700 units.
For the fairly- used vehicles which were 2,933 units, Maestro Sun, handled 250 units on the 20th, MV Celadine came on the 28th with 400 units, Celestine came on the 25th with 400 units, Navdhenu Swift with 160 units, and Dyvi Baltic brought in 213 units on the 5th of last month.
Others include: Jolly Bianco, 80 units on the 11th, Verona 500 units on the 8th, while Imola Express and CSAV Rio Aysen both arrived on the 10th of last month with 480 and 450 units of vehicles respectively.
The Port and Multiservices Terminal Limited [PTML] still maintained its second position with 3,000 units.
The document from the NPA revealed that all the vehicles imported into the terminal were 300 units each on board the vessels.
Grande Angola arrived on the 11th, Coastal Di Avorio came on the 19th, Grande Congo came on the 19th, Grande Guinea on the 15th, Grande Togo on the 17th, and Grande Argentina arrived on the 27th of last month.
Others include Grande Morocco which came in on the 24th, Grande Ghana on the 9th, and Rep Di Roma which also made it to the terminal on the 24th while Grande Atlantico arrived on the 28th.
However, Standard Flour Mill recorded 1,560 units of fairly used vehicles within the month under review. Global Spirit handled 525 units on the 11th of last month; Sapphire Ace had 545 units on the 29th while Hoegh Chiba handled 490 units of fairly- used vehicles.
