The Seme Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) on Thursday decorated 66 senior officers recently promoted by the Nigeria Customs Service Board (NCSB), in a colourful ceremony held at the ECOWAS Joint Border Post, Seme-Krake.

The Customs Area Controller (CAC), Comptroller Wale Adenuga, while addressing officers, guests, and stakeholders at the event, congratulated the newly promoted officers and urged them to see their elevation as a call to higher responsibility.

“This promotion comes with humility. It is not a license for pride but a call to greater service. Carry your junior colleagues along, celebrate with one another, and let us make Seme Area Command the pride of the Service,” Adenuga charged.

He commended the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi and his management team for their commitment to fairness and transparency in the promotion exercise.

Adenuga also reiterated the Command’s alignment with the leadership mantra of the Comptroller-General, emphasizing trade facilitation, stakeholder engagement, and the continuous drive to make the Seme border the best in the West African sub-region.

Speaking on behalf of the decorated officers, Chief Superintendent of Customs (CSC) Oreyeni Olufemi expressed appreciation to the Comptroller-General, the Area Controller, senior colleagues, and family members.

Olufemi assured that the officers would justify the confidence reposed in them by remaining dedicated to service delivery and the success of the NCS.

The event was attended by heads of sister security agencies at the JBP, including the Nigeria Immigration Service, DSS, NDLEA, NAFDAC, Port Health Service, NAQS, and the EOD/Anti-Bomb Unit, alongside family members and other stakeholders. It was marked by an atmosphere of unity, thanksgiving, and renewed commitment to the vision of the Nigeria Customs Service
