15.03.2022: 1655 UTC: Posn: 22:14.3N – 091:49.6E, CUFL Jetty, Chittagong, Bangladesh.
Six robbers boarded a berthed chemical tanker during cargo operations. Duty crew noticed the robbers near the forecastle store. Alarm raised and crew mustered. Hearing the alarm and seeing the crew alertness, the robbers escaped with stolen ship stores. Port control and coast guard informed and inspections carried out. Additional watchmen were arranged by the local agent. Later, the coast guard recovered the stolen items and returned it to the tanker.
14.03.2022: 0100 UTC: Posn: 12:01.61S – 077:11.83W, Callao Anchorage, Peru.
Seven robbers armed with knives boarded an anchored container vessel. Alarm raised, PA announcement made, and crew mustered resulting in the robbers escaping with stolen ship’s properties and stores. Incident reported to TRAMAR and the port authorities boarded the ship for investigation.
13.03.2022: 0100 UTC: Posn: 12:01.0S – 077:12.0W, Callao Anchorage, Peru.
Unnoticed, robbers boarded an anchored vehicles carrier and escaped with ship’s properties. The theft was noticed by the duty crew on routine rounds. Incident reported to port authorities.

EVER 12,000 TEU container ship aground in Chesapeake Bay
Container ship EVER FORWARD ran aground at around 0015 UTC Mar 13 in Chesapeake Bay channel, stranding off fairway, shortly after leaving Baltimore. As of 2130 UTC Mar 14, she was still aground with tugs at her side, salvage company has been already designated. According to USCG, the ship doesn’t
T obstruct traffic. She’s en route to Norfolk.
Container ships collision, Gdansk, Poland
Container ship; ESCAPE struck the stern of berthed container ship HANNI at Gdansk DCT Container Terminal, while unmooring early in the morning Mar 14. The ship reportedly, went under way too early. ESCAPE was about set sail for Kaliningrad, Russia. As of 1145 UTC Mar 14, both ships remained in the same position. Damages sustained by both ships are said not to be serious.
Maersk Containership and Balearia RoPax Collide off Spain
A Maersk containership and a RoPax ferry crossing the Alboran Sea from North Africa to Spain collided early Saturday morning with no reports of causalities. Both vessels were able to proceed to port but the RoPax was seen with several dents and scrapes above the waterline on her port side and arrived in port with the remains of a container entangled with her port bridge wing. The MRCC in Spain reports that it sent a vessel and an aircraft to the area to search for containers that fell from the Maersk ship.
The 23,975 gross ton Napoles is a 20-year-old RoPax. She departed the North African port of Melilla crossing the Alboran Sea bound for Spain. The RoPax collided with the Laust Maersk, a 21-year-old containership registered with a homeport of Hong Kong. The 63,000 dwt boxship, which has a carrying capacity of 4,258 TEU, had previously departed Algeciras and was reportedly sailing to Italy at the time of the collision.
Very Large Ore Carrier reported abandoned, adrift, South Atlantic
Very Large Ore Carrier K IRON MOUNTAIN is reportedly abandoned, adrift 213 nm NNW of Cape Town. Information not yet confirmed, she’s en route from Singapore to Brazil, ETA Mar 25. According to track she encountered problems on Mar 11, being south of Cape Town. Understood SAR tug SA AMANDLA responded, probably bulk carrier was under tow for some time. As of 0710 UTC Mar 18, SA AMANDLA was approaching Cape Town, K IRON MOUNTAIN was adrift with AIS on.
