The United Kingdom-flagged general cargo vessel Scot Bay ran aground in the River Teign. The incident occurred while the vessel was attempting to enter the Port of Teignmouth, United Kingdom, on 10 April.
The vessel grounded at around 06:00 BST while en route from IJmuiden, Netherlands, transporting a cargo of animal feed. It developed a slight starboard list following the grounding, but there were no reports of injuries, structural damage, or pollution.
According to the Teignmouth Harbour Master, the vessel was refloated at around 18:00 BST during the evening tide with the assistance of tugboats. The Marine Accident Investigation Branch (MAIB) has launched an investigation to determine the cause of the incident.
Scot Bay is a 2001-built cargo vessel with a carrying capacity of 3,154 tonnes. It has an overall length of 91.25 metres and width of 14.01 metres. The vessel is currently moored at the Port Teignmouth.
