The Western Ports Authority Police Command has assured port users, maritime stakeholders, and the general public of robust security arrangements ahead of the forthcoming Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
This was contained in an official press statement signed by the Command’s Spokesman ASP Isaac Hundeyin which was made available to our correspondent.
In anticipation of increased human and vehicular activity during the Sallah festivities, the Command announced that it has deployed adequate personnel and intensified its operational strategies to ensure the safety of lives, property, and critical infrastructure within the port environment and its surrounding areas.
Commissioner of Police, CP Olanrewaju Olawale Ishola reiterated the Command’s commitment to maintaining law and order throughout the festive period. He noted that patrols have been intensified, strategic locations are under heightened surveillance, and intelligence-gathering efforts have been scaled up to prevent any potential security threats.
“The safety of port users and the general public is our priority. We have put in place proactive measures to ensure a peaceful and secure celebration.” CP Ishola said.
The Command also urged members of the public to remain law-abiding, vigilant, and to report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station without delay.
As part of the festive goodwill, the Port Police Command extended warm Eid-el-Kabir greetings to all Muslim faithful, wishing them a peaceful and joyous celebration.
