The Apapa chapter chairmanship aspirant of the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) Alhaji Ibrahim Tanko has said that the chapter had been unlucky to have leaders occupying positions without delivering on their mandate.
Tanko who said this recently in Lagos however promised a new dawn for members of the association in Apapa, if elected in the coming election.
In a statement obtained by Shipping Position Daily, the aspirant said that training will serve as a way of boosting investment and professional empowerment.
According to him, "the Apapa chapter of NAGAFF had in the past fallen victim of many appointed or elected officers merely occupying prominent positions, without effectively functioning in it. This practice has to stop, hence, our resolve to offer ourselves for selfless service. We shall embrace international business networking and professional retraining programmes as a way of boosting modest investment and professional empowerment"
He also harped on the need for association’s officers to engage in global alliance and collaboration to achieve the goals of the association.
"We have learned over the years from our professional engagements and experiences that, most officers of the association do not maximize effectively the global idea centering on strategic alliance and collaborations in pursuance to the actualization of the lofty ideals of our dear association", he noted.
He also promised to educate members on the proper use of ICT by providing teachers that will enlighten them on the use of ICT in modern freight forwarding business.
