The Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has complied with President Muhammadu Buhari’s directive as he has resigned his appointment.
President Muhammadu Buhari had given the order on Wednesday during the Federal Executive meeting at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa in Abuja, stating that ministers who want to contest in the forthcoming elections should tender their resignation on or before Monday, May 16, 2022.
Amaechi resigned his position following President Muhammadu Buhari’s directive that all cabinet members vying for elective positions.
The resignation of Amaechi was confirmed in a tweet by APC Twitter UK handle.
It wrote, “Nigeria’s Minister of #Transportation, HM Chibuike R. Amaechi [@ChibuikeAmaechi] has resigned from the Federal Executive Council (FEC) to focus on his Presidential Campaign.
“Thank you for your service to Nigeria.”
