The Ports and Terminal Multiservices Limited (PTML) chapter, National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) has berated Federal Government policies surrounding used vehicles importation into Nigeria through the nation's seaports.
The association said that the policy on vehicles has made the Roll on Roll off terminal operators to run at a lost in their respective businesses.

Chairman of NAGAFF PTML chapter; Chief Goodluck Onunji said that since the introduction of the automotive policy in 2013, terminal operators have not be finding it easy to make profit.
In a chat with Auto Port Weekly in Lagos recently, he blamed the federal government for failing to encourage RORO business, saying that such ports can change the fortunes of the maritime sector.
"The policy will not be the way it is at the moment suppose the federal government has a very good intention as regards RORO ports", he argued.
He said there is need for government to key into RORO ports operation, noting that importation of cars into Nigeria is big business.
According to him, RORO business is a multinational business that should not be allowed to die.
"Nobody is against local manufacturing of vehicles, but we should know that what Nigerians are talking is on vehicle and when we talk about the policy it should be all about manufacturing of cars because it is not everybody that can afford it", he stated.
RORO terminals in Nigeria include: Five Star Logistics terminal and PTML both located at Tin Can Island port in Lagos.
