The Managing Director of Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Omar Suleiman has reiterated the commitment of the organisation to the ideals of Corporate Social Responsibility, especially to the less- privileged in the society.
Suleiman made this known yesterday at the vocational training centre of the Nigerian Society for the Blind at Oshodi, Lagos, while announcing the decision of NPA to pay the tuition fees for ten visually- impaired trainees of the centre for one academic year.

Suleiman made this known yesterday at the vocational training centre of the Nigerian Society for the Blind at Oshodi, Lagos, while announcing the decision of NPA to pay the tuition fees for ten visually- impaired trainees of the centre for one academic year.
Represented by the General Manager, Public Affairs, Chief Michael Ajayi, the Managing Director said he is aware that many Nigerians need assistance, but the handicapped among Nigerians need more help than others.
Chief Ajayi, while commending the efforts of the centre emphasized NPA Management‘s willingness to always fulfill its Corporate Social Responsibilities to the society in order to make it a better place, adding that, when the less- privileged are happy, God is happy
Conducting the General Manager, Public Affairs round the centre’s facilities, the Administrator, Miss Ivy Bassey said the centre provides training and rehabilitation opportunities for the visually- impaired, adding that the centre depends on donations in cash or kind from private and public organisations.
While thanking the NPA for this gesture, she urged other organisations to emulate the organisation by donating generously to the welfare of the centre.
