The Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN) has endorsed a book “fundamentals of freight forwarding management and practice in Nigeria” as an academic material for the development of freight forwarding in Nigeria.
The book which was written by a logistics and transport expert, Dr. Obed Ndikom was launched in Lagos yesterday in collaboration with the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) in an elaborate investiture, book launch and industry leadership lecture.

The book which was written by a logistics and transport expert, Dr. Obed Ndikom was launched in Lagos yesterday in collaboration with the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) in an elaborate investiture, book launch and industry leadership lecture.
Speaking at the book launch, the Registrar and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of CRFFN, Sir. Mike Jukwe said that the book falls within the jurisdiction of the CRFFN and that it has therefore endorsed it for participants in its ongoing executive diploma program in freight forwarding which is designed for main chief executive officers of freight forwarding companies as well as the development of freight forwarders in Nigeria as a whole.
Jukwe who was represented by Barister Alban Igwe, the director of education planning and research of the CRFFN said that at the moment, there are over 5,000 freight forwarders in the nations’ maritime sector and that the book should be obtained by all in order to further broaden their horizon.
“At the moment we have over 5,000 freight forwarders and registration is still on-going, I am sure that by the time it is over the author will be happy to produce more because it will not be sufficient for the freight forwarders
“I want to encourage Dr, Ndikom and CILT that it is a worthy contribution from CILT member and we will not hesitate to give every support to encourage not only Dr. Ndikom but any other person who wants to make contribution in this order. This book is a good book and as the CRFFN, this book falls on our doorstep first before any other person, so this book has been endorsed for the development of freight forwarding in Nigeria” he said.
Reviewing the book and officially presenting it to the public, the former Vice Chancellor of Tai Solarin University of Education, Professor Olukayode Oyesiku commended Dr. Obed Ndikom for the intellectual 600 pages of intellectual work, saying that the book came at the right time because there is dearth of indigenous publication in the maritime industry.
“This has been one of the major problems facing those of us that are teaching, many of us that are consultants and many others that are students, the shortage of this indigenous publication is even more perilous in the maritime transport subsector where everything that we have understand and read comes from the oversea, it is therefore a welcomed development to see that Dr. Ndikoms book is arriving in the Nigerian market at the most auspicious time” Professor Oyesiku stated.
Also speaking earlier, the President of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) Professor Michael Filani corroborated that the book is a welcomed development as most scholars in the higher institutions depend mostly on books written by foreign authors and which lack Nigerian examples to illustrate their viewpoints.
“CILT is therefore happy to collaborate with Dr. Obed Ndikom, a trail blazer in publishing on maritime topics, in launching this very important book which is a must buy for logistics and transport scholars, particularly those in the maritime subsector and all other transport stakeholders”
