Maritime journalist losses mum

A prominent Port Harcourt- based Maritime Journalist; Enyinnaya Onyema has lost his mother, Mrs Chibuako Onyema to the cold hand of death.
Late Mrs. Chibuako Onyema died in an Umuahia Hospital on the 8th of May, 2012, after a brief illness.

Announcing the death in his country home, Isingwu Ofeme in Umuahia North Local Government Area of Abia State, the maritime journalist who also is the first son of the deceased and the Chief mourner described his mother’s death as painful particularly to the children. He said that the mother died at the age of 75, noting that she was a caring mother to her children and to several other children that lived with her or come across her during her active years.
Late Mrs. Chibuako Onyema served the Lord in several capacities, working as Women Secretary and Church Treasurer in Methodist Church, Isingwu Ofeme for several years. When she joined the Lord’s Chosen Church, Ofeme branch, she held the position of Treasurer until her death. She will be buried on Friday, 22nd June, 2012 in accordance with Christian rites of Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministries, Umuahia Regional Headquarters.
Already, condolence messages have been pouring from media, political and maritime associates of the son; most recent are from NUJ, Rivers State and Crystal Friends of Port Harcourt among others.
