NUPENG Bans Transport Company from Loading At Tank Farms

Following allegations of disobedience to the laws that established it, the National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) has placed an embargo on one of its members, Omoowo Transport Company.
In a statement signed by the Chairman of the Lagos Zonal Council of the Petroleum Tanker Drivers (PTD) branch of NUPENG, Comrade Rasaki Akanni, which was sighted by Shipping Position Daily in Lagos last week, the union suspended all the trucks belonging to the company from loading from any of the depots around the Lagos area.

Following allegations of disobedience to the laws that established it, the National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) has placed an embargo on one of its members, Omoowo Transport Company.
In a statement signed by the Chairman of the Lagos Zonal Council of the Petroleum Tanker Drivers (PTD) branch of NUPENG, Comrade Rasaki Akanni, which was sighted by Shipping Position Daily in Lagos last week, the union suspended all the trucks belonging to the company from loading from any of the depots around the Lagos area.
According to the union, the suspension was placed on the company “as a result of the dealers’ disrespect for constituted authority”.
The statement reads in part that: “all trucks belonging to the above named transport company has been suspended from loading in all depots by the Lagos PTD Zonal Council until further notice”.
Apart from this, the union also attached the vehicle registration numbers of the trucks which belongs to Omoowo Transport Company Limited but which have been banned from loading at the depot until further notice as; XF 454 EPE, XX 702 KJA, XJ 940 EKY, XJ 941 EKY, XD 601 MUS, XQ 131 FKJ, XQ 132 FKJ, XQ 130 FKJ.
