The Registrar of the Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN), Mr Kingsley Igwe, has congratulated the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy on Nigeria’s successful election into the Category C Council seat of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), describing the achievement as a major stride for the nation’s maritime sector.

Igwe praised the Minister’s “unwavering efforts and strategic leadership,” noting that the victory reflects Nigeria’s growing influence within the global maritime community.

According to him, the development is more than a diplomatic win — it is a key enabler of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s economic aspirations.

He stated that Nigeria’s re-election “is not only a significant boost to our standing as a maritime nation, but also a huge step forward towards actualizing the $1 trillion economy vision of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (PBAT), driven by the Marine and Blue Economy under the Renewed Hope Agenda.”

Igwe extended his congratulations to the Federal Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy (FMMBE) and the nation at large, expressing confidence that the milestone will further strengthen policies, partnerships, and investments within the maritime industry.
