A new leadership era has begun at the Ports Authority Police (Western) Command, Apapa, Lagos, as Toyin Agbaminoja formally assumed duty as the Commissioner of Police, succeeding AIG Olanrewaju Olawale Ishola, who retired from active service on Thursday, October 16, 2025.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Isaac Hundeyin confirmed the assumption of office in a statement issued in Lagos on Thursday. CP Agbaminoja, becomes the 33rd Commissioner of Police to head the Command.

While at the FCID, Ikoyi, CP Agbaminoja was seconded to the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) Enforcement Unit, where she led a team of police detectives in several successful anti-counterfeiting and regulatory enforcement operations. She later returned to the SFU, Ikoyi, as Officer-in-Charge, Diplomatic Unit.

At the Ports Authority Police (Western) Command, she previously served as DPO Roro Port Division, Command Traffic Officer, and Area Commander, Western Ports.

Her career is marked by several groundbreaking achievements, as she became the first female Area Commander, Area ‘M’ Idimu (2017); the first female Head, Zonal Criminal Investigation Department (ZCID), Zone 2, Onikan (2021); the first female Deputy Commissioner of Police, Airport Command (2023); and the first female Deputy Commissioner of Police, Oyo State CID (2024).

Promoted to the rank of Commissioner of Police in February 2025, she was appointed to head the Special Enquiry Bureau, FCID, Alagbon, before her recent deployment to head the Ports Authority Police (Western) Command.

CP Agbaminoja has attended numerous professional and leadership courses both locally and internationally, equipping her with the strategic and operational expertise required for her new assignment.
