Akutah Commends President Tinubu’s Reforms, Says It has Boosted Nigeria’s Export Trade

The Executive Secretary of Nigerian Shippers’ Council (NSC), Dr. Akutah Pius has hailed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s reform initiatives, describing them as transformative for Nigeria’s economy and a catalyst for export growth.

Speaking in Abuja during a courtesy visit by the Conference of Benue Journalists, Dr. Akutah said the President’s economic policies have revitalized the manufacturing sector and spurred increased export activities. He noted that in the past, export volumes were low and vessels often left Nigerian ports empty. “Today, a lot of export cargoes are leaving the country, marking a significant shift in trade activity,” he said.

Dr. Akutah also praised the creation of the Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy, commending Minister Adegboyega Oyetola, for spearheading the nation’s first national policy on Marine and Blue Economy. He said Nigeria, endowed with vast ocean resources, is now taking concrete steps to fully harness them for economic growth.

Leader of the visiting delegation, Dr. Emmanuel Anule, applauded Dr. Akutah’s achievements in infrastructure development at the NSC and pledged the association’s support in amplifying the sector’s progress.
