The Association of Nigeria Licensed Custom Agent (ANLCA) is insisting that the training programmes recommended by the Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding (CRFFN) is a major requirement for all association members who want to contest in the forthcoming chapter elections.
The association has also counseled all its members who will not be standing for elections to also go for the trainings as it will also be tied to the retention of the association’s biometric identity card when the association starts the review process.

Speaking at an emergency meeting of the association in Lagos last week, the association’s president; Prince Olayiwola Shittu explained that the training college that will be handling the training programme is accredited by the CRFFN and that they are not doing a training outside CRFFN syllabus.
“It is a curricular that is already accepted by CRFFN, what we are doing is that, until CRFFN starts their training, let us train ourselves”.
Shittu explained that the training is going to cost N30, 000 per participant and that it is a direct response to the barrage of complaints that has been received by the association because of the high cost of the executive training programme of the CRFFN which costs a whooping N250, 000.
He however advised ANLCA members to subscribe to the executive diploma as it is backed internationally by FIATA.
“We have decided to organize a low profile training which will cost individuals N30, 000 and it is compulsory, it is part of the certificate you attach to your document when you want to stand for election”, he stressed.
In order to give his members the required boost, Prince Shittu assured them that he is going to be one of the first persons that will attend the training programme which is coming up on the 15th of September 2012. The money according to Shittu covers text materials, tea-break and lunch.
“It is starting from the 15th and it is designed for weekends, fliers will go round and we will put it in the mails”, he added.
Speaking further, Prince Shittu maintained that “All ANLCA members must go for training, if mushroom and irrelevant organizations can be doing training, I don’t see why ANLCA cannot be doing training, and it is part of our constitutional requirement to offer training for our people, and that is why we have encouraged all managing directors and general managers of ANLCA to go for CRFFN executive diploma,
“It is a short cut for those who have standard six of 1980 for them to add value to their degree, after the executive diploma, you can get masters degree and after this you can get PhD”
“Learning is never too much, it is what you learn that you go away with, and therefore we have made it a compulsory thing that starting with those who want to be elected in this association they must go for training”.
