Berger Dealers Say Construction Work Affecting Business

Operators at the largest fairly-used automobile market in Africa; the Berger Automobile Market have raised the alarm over how the on-going construction work is negatively affecting their business.
The dealers said that the construction giant; Julius Berger has erred over what they described slow pace of work.
The dealers who spoke to Auto Port Weekly alleged that paucity of funds on the part of the construction company has led to the delay even as they urged the concerned authorities to disbursed funds  to accelerate the pace  of the construction work.

The dealers who spoke to Auto Port Weekly alleged that paucity of funds on the part of the construction company has led to the delay even as they urged the concerned authorities to disbursed funds  to accelerate the pace  of the construction work.
Secretary to the President General Park, Mr. Obiora Okolonji said that "the way Julius Berger is handling the construction along Berger axis is very slow.  
The dealer stressed that for over two months, the repairs have remained static, and even as he added that it has affected sales of vehicles at the market.
He pointed out that business has been very rough since the commencement of the rehabilitation adding that potential buyers avoid the Apapa Oshodi expressway because of the traffic gridlock.
Okolonji also put the blame on the present traffic situation on the road as a factor that has also affected the trade.
The secretary said the modus operandi of the construction company has not been encouraging because of government’s attitude towards provision of funds to enable them discharge their duties effectively.
" I know funding is the cause of the delay and I know that if they are properly funded, they would have finished the job, he said.
The other operators who spoke to our correspondent appealed to government to provide fund to the construction giant to hasten the construction work.
