Cilt Sacks 60 Fake Members

More than 60 allegedly fake members of the Chartered Institute of Logistics Transport (CILT), Nigeria who were said to have fraudulently obtained the institute’s membership certificates have had their names deleted from the institute’s register of members.
Acknowledging that there had been abuses of CILT’s membership requirements and procedures in the past, ist national executive director, Mr. Francis Ehiguese told Shipping Position Weekly that the discovery and other administrative lapses which had existed in the past necessitated the decision to recertify all existing membership certificates. 
He confirmed that that out of the 2,023 supposedly registered members of CILT; only 295 have so far been certified as authentic members and that others would have to come forward with evidences that they are still worthy and qualified to be called members of the institute.
“The rest should go to their branches or the national secretariat of the institute to regularize their membership, they may be listed after one month”, he warned.
Those who we found not be up to date in their financial obligations to the CILT and those who are found to be ethically bankrupt stand the risk of being deregistered, he added.
