A clearing agent, John Obi, has been charged before an Apapa Chief Magistrates' Court in Lagos for allegedly stealing a 40ft-container valued at N3 million.
The accused, who resides at Ijora-Badia area of Apapa, is facing a three-count charge of conspiracy, stealing and forgery.
The prosecutor, Insp. Rita Momoh, told the court yesterday that the accused conspired with others at large to steal a 40ft-container valued at N3 million, property of one Darlington Ugbaja.

The accused, who resides at Ijora-Badia area of Apapa, is facing a three-count charge of conspiracy, stealing and forgery.
The prosecutor, Insp. Rita Momoh, told the court yesterday that the accused conspired with others at large to steal a 40ft-container valued at N3 million, property of one Darlington Ugbaja.
She said the accused also forged equipment interchange receipt belonging to APM Terminal, Apapa.
The offences, according to her, were committed on February 19, 2014 at Apapa.
Momoh noted that the offences contravened Sections 285, 363 and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
Section 285 stipulates three years jail term for stealing, while Section 409 prescribes two years imprisonment for conspiracy.
Section 363 (h) also provides a seven-year imprisonment for forgery.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr P.A. Ojo, granted the accused bail in the sum of N500, 000 with two sureties in like sum.
He adjourned the case till May 8 for further hearing.
