The reconciliation committee that was setup by the Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN) to look into the crisis that has rocked the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) has completed investigation and has submitted its report to the council for final decision.

ABUBAKAR TSANNI

Even though no one was willing to divulge the recommendations, Shipping Position Daily findings revealed that the committee which dug into the over four years old crises made some far-reaching recommendations.

In an exclusive chat with our correspondent, the chairman CRFFN reconciliation committee, Alhaji Abba Yusuf, confirmed that the committee has completed its findings and has submitted its report to the Chairman of CRFFN governing council for final decision, even as he refused to give details.

However, when contacted the chairman of the governing council of CRFFN, Alhaji Abubakar Tsanni, confirmed that the reconciliatory committee has completed its investigation and has submitted the report to the council, but said the governing council is meeting this week to look at the report and take final decision about the crises.

Tsanni, who was optimistic said the decision by the council will lay the crisis in ANLCA to rest.

However, when our correspondent asked the chairman governing council CRFFN if the ANLCA secretariat that has been under lock and key for some months will be opened soon, he said the decision will be taken during the council meeting next week.

He said “We at the council are meeting next week (this week) and we are going to look at the report and take the final decision about the crises in ANLCA and by God grace whatever decision we take will give us a lasting solution to the problem.

“For the secretariat, at the meeting we will resolve the issue of the closed secretariat” he said.

Meanwhile, in a chat with our correspondent last week, the acting national president of ANLCA Dr. Kayode Farinto lamented that posterity would judge everyone who had a part to play in the crisis that rocked the association for the past four years, stating that younger agents are now suffering from the crisis in the association.
