The Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adeniyi has donated 13 vehicles to Ogun 1 Area Command of Customs(NCS), Idiroko,to boost its operational capacity.
Mr Godwin Otunla, Area Comptroller,disclosed this in a statement by the Command’s Public Relations Officer(PRO), Mr Chado Zakari in Idiroko on Thursday.
Otunla explained that the command had just taken delivery of 13 operational vehicles allocated by the CGC to enhance our anti-smuggling activities.
“We are deeply grateful to him and the entire management team for their continued support and encouragement,” he said.
Otunla congratulated Adeniyi on his well-deserved election as the Chairperson of World Customs Organisation(WCO) Council, comprising 186 member countries.
He added that this was a prestigious global recognition of his visionary leadership and commitment to reform and modernisation in the NCS.
The area Comptroller reiterated the Command’s commitment to intensify efforts against smuggling and cross-border crimes.
He admonished smugglers to refrain from illegal businesses as Idiroko command is no go area for criminals.
