Barely three days after his tour of Units at the Customs Headquarters in Abuja, the Acting Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Bashir Adewale Adeniyi has reverted some critical Units at the Customs Headquarters back to the office of Assistant Comptroller General ( ACG), Headquarters which is the administrative power house of the NCS.
This was contained in a circular issued yesterday and cited by our Correspondent with the title ” REVERSION OF SOME UNITS TO OFFICE OF ACG HEADQUARTERS”. The circular is with No. Hq/014/2023. It states:
” I am directed to inform you that the under listed Units have been reverted to the office of the ACG (Hqts) for effective service delivery and attainment of value for the Service.
The affected Units are, Air Wing Unit, Auction and Overtime cargo, Customs Intelligence Unit ( CIU), Customs Police Unit ( CPU) and Forensic Unit.
These Units hitherto during the last regime of Col. Hameed Ali (rtd) were either domiciled at the Comptroller General’s Office or his Principal Staff Officer ( PSO) who was a serving Brigadier General of the Nigerian Army.
The circular further said” consequently, all Correspondence relating to the above mentioned Units should be directed to the office of the ACG (Hqts) accordingly.
” This is for your information and wide circulation. Treat as important and ensure compliance please”.
The circular was copied to DCGs, ACGs, Zonal Coordinators and others.
