As a way to tackle insecurity in Onne Rivers State, a Christians Organization has moved in, in  line with the Rivers State government’s policy to demolish  illegal structures in and around Onne trailer park.
The Onne trailer park is at the outskirt of Onne Sea Port which also doubles as one of the major link road to the ever-busy, Onne Port complex.

The demolition exercise at the Onne trailer Park in Eleme Local Government Area of Rivers State was spearheaded by a Christian group, led by  Bishop Friday Nwator, which also said that the demolition exercise has become necessary as a way to tackle insecurity in the area.

He said hoodlums have turn the trailer park to safe heaven, from where they unleash mayhem on innocent citizens. Bishop Nwator said the action is in line with the policy of Rivers state government on illegal structures in the state.
He noted that the demolition will pave way for the development of industrial estate that would attract further investment in the state.
He noted that prior to the demolition, that owners of the illegal structures were given three months notice, but regretted that they refused to respond accordingly.
Meanwhile, some residents in Onne interviewed complained over the deplorable state of the alternative link road to Onne Sea Port through the trailer park.
An indigene of Onne, who prefered anonymity faulted frontline terminal operator in Onne port, INTELS   for not adding it voice  to improve the other link road to Onne port through the trailer park.
A trailer driver who simply identified himself as “John” expressed shock at the deplorable state of the link road, nothing that this does not proof that INTELS and other oil firms operating in Onne care for the welfare of the host communities of Eleme and Onne where the operate.
